Barney Production
Barney Production was founded in 2010 by Saïd Hamich, a graduate of La Fémis and winner of the 2012 Jean-Luc Lagardère Foundation Film Producer grant.
With the ambition of developing a popular auteur cinema, Barney has produced some thirty short films.
She also co-produced the feature film Much Loved by Nabil Ayouch and produced North windWalid Mattar's first feature film, Saïd Hamich's first, Back to BollèneVolubilis, Faouzi Bensaïdi's fourth feature film, all three released in 2018, as well as The Sandman Steve Achiepo's first feature film, released in 2023.
Les MeutesKamal Lazraq's first feature film won the Un Certain Regard Jury Prize at the last Cannes Film Festival in 2023. DesertsFaouzi Bensaïdi's fifth feature film, was also presented at the Quinzaine des Cinéastes in 2023.
The sea in the distanceby Saïd Hamich Benlarbi is presented as a Special Screening at Critics' Week 2024.
The company is currently developing new feature film and series projects: A world without flowers by Walid Mattar, Holy Mary by Camille Lugan, Ferville by Marine Francou, Jean-Philippe Amar and Amina Damerdji, Let the earth burn by Sofia Alaoui and Måns Mårlind.
For our productions in Morocco, we regularly collaborate with our partner Mont Fleuri Production (Casablanca).
