Leyla Bouzid

Leyla Bouzid lives between Paris and Tunis where she grew up. After obtaining a baccalaureate, she went to Paris to study French literature at the Sorbonne. She started in cinema as assistant director and co-directed her first short film, Sbeh el Khir, in 2006 with Walid Mattar. She then integrates La Fémis in production. Mkhobbi fi kobba, his graduation film, was selected in more than 30 international festivals including Clermont-Ferrand, Toronto, Abu Dhabi and Premiers Plans d’Angers where he was awarded. Zakaria is his first short film made since the end of his studies. She then directed her first feature film Just I Open My Eyes, released in France in 2015.
